    Default Really confused about HID

Hey guys, first all i have tried search and read everywhere what people have said. But as this is my first car/commodore i need some help.
I am looking for a full conversion of full and low beam with the whitest possible beam.

My first question is, is the vz exec lights separate bulbs for hi and lo beam??

2nd is, will i have to have a ballast kit to install with the bulbs?

3rd, how hard is it to install. I have a basic knowledge of wiring, mainly audio. But believe i can do this.

Thanks for any help in advance
    Jack

Honestly, a HID kit is a rip off. White bulbs with white LED parkers will give you the right look at a fraction of the price. I just replaced all my bulbs and it looks just like my mate's VY with a HID kit. (he's pissed that he paid so much)

Yeh, after having a look around this seems like a much better option. Does anyone know the size of the bulbs in the vz execs???

this might sound cheap, but go to autobarn, theyve usually got all the different types of bulbs (and they'll tell you which ones are legal or not), and which ones fit

HID globes need the ballast to run them,

also unless you have the right reflector to suit the globes in the lights its a waste of time anyway..

Anyone that thinks so called white globes are as good as HID is retarded. HIDs throw out a hell of a lot more light and a much whiter light at that.

The kits come with everything you need and simply plug into your existing harness, no clutting or soldering required.

Yes there may be glare issues with headlights not designed for HIDs but this can be solved by adjusting the beam downwards to compensate for the much brighter light.

I installed HIDs into my non projector headlights and the difference was huge. Have tried the so called white light globes and they are crap.

I think you've missed the point. It's not how cool they look on the car or looking at the car, it's how much light they throw (that's why we have headlights after all). HIDs (installed correctly) will produce WAY more light than the 'super dooper white' globes you can buy from Autobarn and the like.

Your VZ will have H4 60/55w High/Low beam globes, and H1 55w high-beam globes, to answer your globe question.
