    Exclamation alloytec problem

i was sitting at the lights and all the sudden the revs dropped all the whole car started shaking the engine got allot louder and fumes became more noticable, and when i drove off the car shook the more i put my foot down, i asked around and most people think that it will be a simple as changing a faulty spark plug, but i have no idea. what do you think?????????

Fuel pump could be the first suspect.
If engine continues shaking violently and hesitates when driving off (and requires progressively more and more revs just to try and stabilise the engine), the fuel pump is a strong suspect. Slowing down then produces a stall. Starting/re-starting will also be progressively more difficult (leading terminal) as a fuel pump dies.

What you described is exactly the same as I experienced with my old Lexcen CSi V6. But alloytecs are a much more advanced engine than what I used to have. Nevertheless, a dead fuel pump
trapped me 600km from home and necessitated a $1379 tilt-tray transfer back home, put a new pump in, that turned out to be faulty 500km later, so the car shaked, rattled and rumbled again... It cost a fortune (main reason car was jettisoned this July for a VZ!!). So check everything very, very carefully.

i would look at the cheapest thing that may cause it like plugs and coils than to go straight to an expensive fuel pump.

Not that coils are cheap either, Richard!
After a high pressure spray of the engine and a rough start then stalls, a coil pack set me back $400 two years ago... :

I'm over it. Cars are bloody expensive things to keep going!

ebay! or just buy one and swap them around until it fixes it, if of course its the problem.
does it still shudder at high rpm?

take it to a mech and get a diagnosis then fix it yourself.
