just wondering how to take the back plastic part off the front seat

If you mean the bit with the seat pockets you need to pull them from the bottom. The clips holding them in will snap but you can buy new clips from Holden. From memory they are $5 a clip totally $20 for 4 (2 on each).

just get down there, grip the bottom and reefe the things off. done both of my map pockets so far.
