Default VZ Executive / Acclaim Front Bumper

VZ Executive / Acclaim Front Bumper-white-holden-vz-commodore-acclaim-sedan-1-.jpgVZ Executive / Acclaim Front Bumper-white-holden-vz-commodore-acclaim-sedan-17-.jpg

Hopefully someone can help me, I have a VZ Executive and have noticed a slight difference with the front bumper of the Executive and Acclaim. Along the bottom where the black plastic sections are, the Executive has all black plastic, but I noticed the Acclaim has black and the other portion of it is the colour of the bumper. I have hopefully attached some pictures that illustrate the difference.

I'm fond of the Acclaim look, do those black/colour plastic sections be purchased seperate and replace the all black plastic section of the Exec, or is it actually part of the bumper???

I hope IO have explained myself ok, because reading it back even I'm confused.

    Cheers for help.

    Steve.

Yeah that's what I'm not sure of. I would think so but hopefully someone can confirm it for me. Cheers for that.

those bits push out, so if you could find a set their easy as to change over, but the problem is finding a set seperate ... you might need to buy a whole bumper bar just to get them.

From how I'm reading it, you're referring to the fog light fascia blanks in place on both types of car.

On the VZ Executive, the entire black fascia can be popped out and the fog light for that model clips in to the space. The Acclaim has a smaller (black) fascia and by design, a small fog light. If you poke around you will probably discover that the Acclaim fascia (black round section) pops out too, ready to take the model-specific chrome fog light. I've learned that some people removing the blanks for a "stickybeak" have accidentally broken the tabs and cannot replace the blanks, so be careful if you don't have the foglights to hand.

holmart.com.au should have GM surplus fog lights in any of the model of interest. The wiring loom for each light is tucked under the lower fairing, ready to accept them.

    Huh?

The black bit on the Executive are interchangable with the semi coloured bits on the Acclaim, Ive done it myself between my acclaim and my mums Executive. There is NO factory fog light option on the Acclaim what so ever. A few people like myself have installed aftermarket lights in there instead, but its far from factory. And no, the Berlina or SVZ bezels DONT fit despite looking like they will. Our SX6 Adventra didnt even have the loom, and its front bar is designed to have the lights as it has proper pop out panels and the mounting holes for the genuine light.

And not all cars have the wiring loom, there appears to be no set procedure as to what cars got them and what didnt. It seemed that all cars with factory lights (SS, SV6 etc) copped the loom, because, well they needed it to connect to the fog lights, but those that didnt (executive, Acclaim etc) seemed to be on a flip of the coin sort of basis. Trust me, Ive studied the front end of alot of VZ's
