Default Problems accelerating from standing start

Just wondering if anyone could shed some light on a problem i've been having occationally with my calais.
It's a V8 (LS1) and sometimes when i accelerate from a standing start it just doesn't move at first - i can feel the engine revving fine, but it wont go. It only lasts maybe 2-3 seconds then it suddenly kicks in and goes.
It's not like fly-by-wire throttle body lag, it takes much longer than that, and it's not the traction control kicking in because this is just smooth normal acceleration and i'm not trying to floor it.
In the few months i've had this car it's only done it a few times, but it just annoys me!
    So any ideas??

Yeah - not quite the same effect as a stallie, at least with a stallie you still move forwards while it's building to it's stall point.
I think i might just flush the converter next trans service and see if that helps, if no one else has any ideas.

yea man, just service the box...2-3 seconds for a gearbox lag...stuff that, i can't say i've been in a v8 auto commodore, but my brothers v6 calais took off straigth away, same with every other auto commodore we've owned...1 second lag i'd allow, for the torque convertor to cortex the oil around and get up to stall speed, not 2-3, just service your gear box..but remember this, gearbox oil will tell a story of what's happening in there...look for different colours or streaks in the red oil...look for like a powdery substance in the bottom of the drain container (clutch material) or gold streaks within the oil (copper thrust washers worn) etc..take a photo for someone else to diagnose if you have to, cheers mate
