Hi guys,
I have a standard VZ Executive Wagon (175 V6 with 4 speed auto) that is duel fuel (Impco Sequent 56 LPG system), and am interested in what LPG economy figures other folk are getting from their VZs.
The best LPG economy my partner got out of mine is 450 km on 58 litres, which works out around 12.9 litres per 100 km. This figure was for highway driving, sitting on 100 - 110 km/hr. I normally get 430 km from 58 litres when country driving. Oddly, suburban driving doesn't seem to use a heap more LPG by comparison. Last figure I got suburban driving was 14.5 litres per 100 km.
As I said, I am very interested to find out what LPG economy figures other people are getting, especially from wagons like mine.
Cheers
im about to get LPG fitted to my sedan, i have been told to get the computer tuned to get better fuel Econ for fuel and LPG which i will also do a bit later on
There is no need to get the original petrol ECU tuned or modified in any way. The original ECU will advance ignition timing to suit LPG so therefore to take maximum advantage of the higher octane rating, you will need to run 98RON petrol after the conversion or else the ECU will actually retard timing. In terms of economy, expect to use 20%-30% more LPG than petrol. We have a VZ SV6 that consistently averages about 14L/100km which yields 500-550km per 70-75L of fuel.
Injected CNG, LNG & LPG: The only way to go better!
