Default How to fix the sticky indicator in a VZ Commodore (BCM)

As promised, here is my document on how to fix the sticky indicator in a vz commodore by replacing the relay in the BCM.

I have successfully fixed my commodore by following these steps.

This will hopefully save some people from paying hundreds of dollars for a bcm swap, when really, it's just a $10 part that needs to be changed in the bcm.

    Use at own risk.

    bcm vz indicator fix.zip

Here's another link to the pdf version of it for those unable to open it due to the zip file.

    Thanks.
Yeah, was a bit gutted that there didn't seem to be any detail on how to fix this when it started happening to me, but am glad that I was able to put the info there for people to use.
Wasn't sure whether to put it in the electrical / how-to or vz section. I'm sure people will be able to search for it though.

Followed this guide to remove the sticky relay today, it was spot on and took me 40 minutes to remove, un-solder and put everything back together.

I just removed it for now as i would rather have no hazzard lights and flashing indicators instead of the thing sticking everytime,

im now waiting for a group buy

    Got ya PM, ta!

I'll look into it in January. Dont know if it'll make it cheaper or not but hey if we split the postage costs amongst a few people and we meet their minimum order cost then its worth it!

Well, I got mine for $20 NZD. That included $4.50 of postage, so, not too much.

For those folk who are interested, I've got some relays on order as we speak, with delivery due the first or second week of December.

The only real price killer will be postage, but I'm trying to find ways of minimising costs there.

Can anyone assist with the supply of a suitable relay in New Zealand? Thanks in advance... Have turned the chirping horn function on and it driving the family nuts.

Even better news. I have finally received the relays. I have all three part numbers as used in the BCM, but the pic just shows some of the HFKM 012-SHST relays, which is the one causing the sticky indicator problem. I have also posted this in a later thread as well, so I hope the folder moderators don't get cranky with me.

For those folk who have already contacted me, I'll PM you guys soon of specific details to get hold of some. For other folk, just PM me. I can't put any other details up lest the folder moderators get upset because it may be deemed a 'for sale' type post.
