G'day lads,
Recently taken me VZ in for its usual service & the bloke has come across & told me the brake rotors were shagged aswell as the pads. Didnt have the extra cash on me right there & then, so i told the bloke next pay i'll have em replaced. When i got myself back home i decided to remove the wheels & take a look myself to find the brake pads were only at 60%, as for the rotors i wouldnt have a bloody clue if they're shagged or not haha. So me question is. Is anyone able to tell me the size of a new stock standard brake rotor & the smallest size a stock standard brake rotor can be machined down to before they're due for replacing?
I'll also add she's a '04 VZ with the ventillated fronts & solid rears, incase theres differences between '04-'06. Any feedback would be muchly appreciated fella's!
New thickness, fronts are 28mm, rears are 16mm. Minimum thicknesses should be cast into the rotor itself.
I can do you a pretty good deal on replacements if you want to do that. Machining them is only a temporary fix as 99% of the time they will warp again.
