    Default Vz otr

    Hey guys,

Just looking for some bolt on mods that I can do to improve the performance of my VZ Berlina 175kw.

I already have a cat-back exhaust, so cats and extractors are on the cards, same with a VCM tune, but before i get a tune, Air intake obviously needs an upgrade,

Just wondering on what your thoughts would be on the gains from one of these eBay OTR systems, or have better gains been found from a simple 2 hole mode / MCAI, or the Growler intake available.

OTR COLD AIR INTAKE ALL VZ V6 ALLOYTEC & SV6 (eBay item 170417438397 end time 03-Dec-10 07:05:53 AEDST) : Cars, Bikes, Boats

Im also wondering what diff gears would be the best, in terms of gain : economy ratio
My diff is stock standard, so i'd be looking at getting a 3.45:1, LSD set-up, but am just concerned with the RPM rise, as I drive on the freeway every day for around half an hour, Not much, i know, but just wondering whether i'd say any genuine increase in fuel consumption.

    Thanks, any help/advice/opinions appreciated.

i called the resser for these otr, he seems to think they themselves alone make 8-10rwkw. i asked how they do and he said because cold air in front is collected, and he said the standard air intake is restrictive, and restrictive deliberately to reduce intake noise etc. however, i tracked down someone who bought one of these intakes and all he said is that the foam filter sucked in so i dunno.

Your revs will only go up about 200rpm with those diff gears. I went from 3.07/3.08 (can't remember) to 3.46 and it's still perfectly fine for highway driving (99% of my driving is on hwy/fwy).
