    Default Too Big???

    Hey guys,

Just wondering if a twin 2.5" catback exhaust system is too big for a 175kw V6 VZ exec. Been looking around for ages, people say yes and people say no, got a quote from an exhaust shop and they said that they reccommend a good twin 2.5" catback, with a x-pipe, straight through mufflers, rear resi with tips. Does anyone know is that would sound great, and is that system too big and will i lose alot of power? Or would a twin 2.25" catback into a twin 2.5" be better?

    Thanks.

I guess it depends on each person, I went for Twin 2.5" and I like it. YouTube - Acceleration After VCM Tune <--It's not the best sound, but gives you kind of an idea.

i also have a twin 2.5, didnt notice any power loss. someone on here had a single 2.5 exhaust and a tune, then later on down the track got a twin 2.5 and gained power, but also lost power down low. i guess a twin 2.25 would be good. someone on here sells twin 2.25 to single 3 inch, supposedly is the best, but dunno anyone else who has that system or what it sounds like. would actually like to know

I can't really say on the power side of things, as I did a few other mods at the same time; but the sound is great. Mine is a 172kw (2006 model) Alloytec.

would you be able to send me a recording of your exhaust sound? Yeeah alota people say its too big but others say its fine even an exhaust shop recommended one, but with an x-pipe and straight mufflers. Whats an x-pipe do? How much power did you lose down low? Yeeah heaps of ppl have sed that the 2.25 into a single 3" but yeeah dunno how it sounds and i'd def love to, ya reckon it would sound good? Not really looking to gain much power, just wanna nice, sounding note, thats not quiet like the stock exhaust :@ haha

I've got a twin 2.5" system pretty much exactly like what you have described and I think it's too big. I'm fairly certain I lost low down power but gained top end power and opened up the engine to rev more freely.

I'd go 2.25" for the 175 unless you've done some pretty big power-gaining mods to it
