Noisey whine when turn aircon on
Car whines when I turn the air con on. Anyone know what this is at all?

It comes from the air compressor, ive got the same noise when my air con is on. My Dad also had the same noise when he had his VZ wagon.
Im not overly fussed bout it.

Like other folk have noted, I also have the same whine with my air conditioning on & the compressor running. I seem to notice it more as the engine revs increase.
My solution is also just to turn the radio up.
thats funny, mine also increases with revs, does anyone know how much a compressor would be.

faulty pump???
increased strain on the belt, replace the belt or your tensioner is buggered, best way to tell is to take the belt off and just spin the compressor by itself, dont spin the clutch, spin the middle part, the actual pump and go from there :>
