I have just had a similar thing happen to my VZ. I replaced the door lock assembly, only to find that the plastic lock button knob was catching inside it's plastic holder (the bit you have to remove the screw from at the top rear of the door) .

I used some sandpaper to smooth off the bottom of the plastic lock button so it slides in the holder without catching, and this seems to have done the trick.

yeah I checked that and the lock slides in and out perfectly.

Took door trim off and sprayed in there, but no go, it does unlock and lock with the key, but alarm sets off when you open the door.

Maybe it is the door locking module... 1 other door was getting stuck, but not any more, all the other doors are ok except drivers door.

Been getting a bit of rain up this way, maybe some water got in there some how, and I don't think you can test the door lock module when door is open, so this makes it harder to find out what is going wrong.

Have you at some stage deadlocked the doors as opposed to single lock? If so, the alarm may be the reminder that you haven't fully disengaged deadlock.
Two locks = deadlock and walk. One unlock = unlock driver's & passenger doors only from deadlock; Two unlock = disengage deadlock from all doors. The alarm (horn+lights) may trigger because somewhere you or the BCM has become confused — this has happened to me when I failed to disengage deadlock, got into the tailgate and lo and behold, a hue and cry with lights and horn!

spot on. that was the prob, when I was sitting in the car I noticed the red lock icon flashing on the dash even though the car was unlocked so I pressed unlock, the red lock icon went off, then I locked the car, all locks locked! After all it was a simple double lock, must keep keys away from kids!!!

    Thanks Guys for your help!
