hey ladies and gents
i have a few queries bout my VZ id like some help with. if anyone has any ideas or answers, that would be helpful, thanks.
So, I have a 2007 VZ Executive Commodore Ute
V6
Lowered
Tinted
Custom Hard top and tray liner
18'' PDW Rims
currently, it got a stock standard exhaust system, single. id like to make it a dual system, with extractors and 2" piping and 3" twin exhausts. is it possible to turn the single to a dual?
also, because it will become dual systemed, it will need a body kit. im thinking a maloo body kit???
followed by a HSV Monaro bonnet???
also, any idea what a transmission change would cost?? its auto at the moment, would like to see it as a manual sometime in the future.
cheers

My brother used to have a black VU S manual v6 ute that he bought off a mate and it had dual twin 3" exhaust with a Maloo bodykit. Not only did the exhaust sound shit, but it had no back pressure so the engine was losing power. Plus it made it too loud and had to get an EPA test and failed so it all had to be replaced. I would suggest something like a standard VY/VZ SS twin exhaust.
ive got a dual 2.25 on my 190kw alloytec but was told dual 2 inch (same as stock vy2 and vz ss) would be best for 175kw alloytec.
Ummm, no. It had too much back pressure.
A twin system on the VZ's will work well but it has to be 2 1/4" max. Fitting an X pipe will help tremendously on a twin on the alloytec, but going twin into single works even better. There isn't an off the shelf twin into single for the utes yet though.
ive got a twin 2 1/2, and other people i know of have had the same system and had gains on the dyno. example. a mate of mine used to have a single 2 1/2, then changed to a twin 2 1/2, dyno tuned and made gains from that exhaust. he now has a twin 2 1/4, but i dont know the gains or loses of it compared to the twin 2 1/2. reason he changed was because the twin 2 1/2 was too loud and was getting noticed by the police more
