Default How much is to much for a 2005 3.8 vz

    Hello all
Im new to this site and need some help

I have been looking for the last few weeks for a ute and have come across a 2005 vz 3.8 manual 6speed,it has been lowered and has 116000 km and has full service history . The bloke dealer wants $13,990 for it . Is this to much ? i dont know because i have never bought a holden ute before. It drives ok and goes well but there is a slight noise coming from the rear end not sure if that is normal or not.
Any help would be most helpfull

    cheers

As you would probably know mate, ute's hold there value substantially in comparison to sedans and wagons of the same period.
I found this out when searching for my VS Ute.
The price above seems quite resonable considering the lowish km's and the fact that it's manual.
Are you sure it's a 3.8? I could be wrong but the VZ Alloytec Engines run a 3.6 whilst the Ecotec have a 3.8.
With the sound it would be in your best interest to get an RACV check or a mechanic to look over it to suss out any bugs.
Other then that good luck mate and let us here on JC how you go with your purchase.

    Hello mate
The dealer told me that it was a 3.8 but im brand new to this ute thing, all i know is that it goes well , but i will look into it.
I have had a few test drives in autos but i reckon the way to go is a manual, i have also seen a 2002 manual but not sure about it because it looks a bit dull crap alloys and not sure is it would be a vs or something else.
Any way thanks for the advice and i will keep every one posted how i get on.
    Cheers.

The VZ is a 3.6, the dealer made a mistake. If it is a Holden dealer then go somewhere else as they obviously don't even know their own product.

I paid 25k for mine, and it had like 120k km on the clock (june last year) and I know I overpaid big time, but living in Darwin we overpay for everything.

    Id say 12-15k is good
