I've looked and looked. ( Probably in the wrong places. )
I would like to change my 4 speed auto box with a 5 speed auto box for my 170 KW alloytec..
Now I'm not sure if you can do that. So would anyone like to shed light on my situation.
Is it possible to do ? or is the 190 alloytec box different to the 170 ?
Thanks guys.
i wouldnt think the bolt pattern on the block would be different just egay up some pictures of both and compare
The cost would FAR out weigh any advantages. Even if you could do it (NFI if you can) it would really be pointless.
and I think you need to change the ECU and loom and stuff like that, its not as simple as unbolt one and bolt in another
I think you could fit a high output engine (190-195kw) with a 4 speed gearbox but not a 5 speed on a standard alloytech due to the wiring/ecu & gearbox differences.

Just get a shift kit. I got one in my wags and it shifts great. Its not boring anymore. I turn it of but then turn it back on cos its just no fun with out it on
Oh well damn... Just looked more fun with the 5 speed. Seems to change gear better than the 4 speed.
