when i turn the car on i get this crap scraping noise from the engine? then it goes away..
when i reverse it starts up again then stops when i stop, and starts again when i accelerate forward slowly then goes away with higher revs? did a search and read that it was the heat shield rattling against something? but why would it go away at higher revs or after 2 seconds of idling?
It's the heat shield under the car wraped round the exhaust under the front doors. take them off, and you'll never hear the noise again. I ran around the whole car before I found this out. Drove me nuts.
easy to remove? and im sure they're there for a reason? will it ruin anything?
had a look under my car to find these "heat shields" but the thing that i thought was a heat shield is like 10 cms away from the exhaust? can someone give me a picture?
