So, im new to this forum, and am looking for some advice.
Ive had these wheels on for about 2000kms now and just realised when i have 3 people in the back + the calais soft suspention my rims hit the guard only just on the silver parts of my rims. (they stick out from the tyre)
What do I do???
Roll the guards?
Get stiffer suspention?
Best advice - put the standard VZ Calais wheels back on. Those ones you've put on look hideous.
Well I assume so. They are very low profile thats for sure. And id rather drive on the brake calipers then put the Standard ones back on mate haha.
Roll your guards mate... As long as those rims are the correct offset for your car they shouldn't scrub as long as you have the guards rolled!
Thanks mate, it isnt the tyre rubbing.. its the edge of the rim. Should have maybe gone for 8.5 in the back not 9.5.
Those rims are shit hot mate, look sweet with the colour of your car. Like others have said roll your gaurds, or don't have people in the back seat![]()
Cheers mate, people dont stop looking at them. Look even better rolling. Need a "no fat girls" sign or something. Cheers mate will look into the guard rolling.
if its your rim hitting and not your tyre, as already said try rolling your guards if that doesent work you might have to look into harder suspension. also nice choice of wheel they look good
Thanks man, appreciate it! Seems like rolling them is the go.
i agree those rims are quite hot indeed
roll your guards and see how that goes, looks fair to high aswell lol u wanna go just sitting above the rim will tuff, but ur having problems as it is, you sure it isnt rubbing on the inside of the guard being 9.5" wide?
I thought that initually but no its the actual rim itself, i can see scuff marks on the rim, the rim is actually wider than the tyre.. Do I make the wheels camber in a little?
I think your tyres are too wide! But if not, and i'm seeing things, could be just rolling the guards. But it won't roll the bit on the outside which is seems to be too much tyre on.

I agree, 9.5 is too wide for a VZ on the rear. You are obviously stretching 225s on there?
You could also look into 'Polyair' assited rear bags, Basically you inflate them before you hold people in the back. This will stiffen up the rear end, I mention this first because it is probably going to be allot cheaper then replacing all your rims.
Cheers
