im looking at buying a VZ SS ute or sedan 6spd manual. whats a list of problems/things i should be looking out for when inspecting the vehicle? apart from the obvious like tyres, clutch travel, oil leaks etc.

VZs are pretty good, just clocked up 156,000kms in my 5.7 6spd.

No oil leaks, original clutch (amazingly) still goes as hard as it did with half the kms.. And I dont drive it like a nanna, it gets a hiding on every outing.

All Ive had to replace is the water pump which was when it was still under warranty and rebuilt the diff because the bearings were getting noisy and bad backlash. Other than that the usual stuff like shockies, brakes etc.. Engine is unopened, gearbox still humming along nicely..

^^^ Understand that my car has been meticulously maintained though with all fluids being changed on a regular basis and everything getting a thorough check over every 5000kms retensioning bolts etc

So a car that hasnt been looked after wont be the same..
