Default Calais lights on an Executive? (Compatibility issues?)

I brought up in conversation with my mate that I was planning on getting some VZ Calais lights and fitting them to my VZ Executive to which he replied that the calais lights won't fit because the Calais mould is slightly smaller than the executive so they won't fit in properly?

    Is this true?

ive heard rumours of the requirement of a 'spacer' between the light and bar

They will fit, the casing is the same it's just the internal bits that are different.

all calais, executive, lumina, berlina, clubby ect, lights are the same however ss and sv6 ones are smaller. google some pics and take note of the height of the lights between ss/ sv6 and calais/clubby/ executive. also this means that ss and sv6 rear bars wont fit other models either..

does this mean i can't just 'unplug' the stock lights and 'plug' the calais lights in? i heard that i may need a different wiring harness...whatever that is!
