Hi, I just sanpped my fuel flap off today and cant afford to buy a new one for $70 what the best way to fix it and what should i use...thanks
You can get a replacement (unpainted) VZ wagon or sedan fuel filler flap from holmart in Victoria.
HOLTS AutoColour spray paint matched to your car's colour for another $14 or so and you're in business.
Link to holmart: Commodore VZ (scroll down a little over half-way down page).
Otherwise, wreckers, but you'd still need to strip the paint and respray unless such small details do not matter...

I snapped mine off about 12 months ago. Fortunately, it snapped off cleanly, where the hinge attached to the inside of the actual flap itself.
What I did was clean up the area affected by the break with turps then metho, and then ensuring to check that the two parts would match up perfectly at the break, I used Superglue to temporarily attach the two pieces together. I then used high strength Araldite to fill the entire cavity adjacent to the break, to build up the area next to the break. Worked a treat, however the high strength Araldite takes a couple of days to cure, so while it is curing, you have to be careful that the flap is positioned so the Araldite doesn't run out of the area you want it. The attached pic shows where I applied the Araldite (the yellowy brown patch on the flap/hinge area).
With the high strength Araldite now holding the bits together, next time I'm an idiot and accidentally try to break off the flap, I'll probably do more damage to the attaching vehicle panel itself.
Hope this helps.
