Exclamation engine cuts out while driving

i have a 2006 vz exec wagon auto, i have had this car for just over a year now and had nothing but problems. first was the car wouldn't start, took it to the mechanics 10 times, only till i threaten them i'll go to consumer affairs things go done. now the car is stalling while driving and i have to go back to the same mechanics due to warranty.

the problem is that its a random thing, but it seems to happen when i apply the brakes. also the abs warning light comes on quite often.

i told the mechanics about the car cutting out and the abs light, and they say that they reset the abs system, and that is it

    any help please
    please someone help

    Is it on LPG?
What condition the battery? Common for ABS to fault when battery volts are low. Have it load tested if in doubt.
    Over to you.

no it doesn't run on lpg, i always fill up with 91 unleaded.

the battery is less then 6 months old, but i have had my haven't suspicions about it though. i'll go and get it load tested now

Alternator ? If you have a scan gauge, it should be between 13.7 and 14.2 V I'm pretty sure.

just had the battery tested, the battery is is all good, though it needs a charge. the car charges the battery fine.

also i just put the car in diagnostics mode while car is running, and stated:

    switch voltage 5v
    battery voltage 13.9v

i also know that there are a few other vz's that are doing the same thing

Well it's not a common problem among VZs. Cars stalling while being driven are extremely dangerous and should not be on the road: a serious fault exists somewhere, possibly with the speed sensor / ABS controller module. A trouble code should be logged if it is a component someplace, and these codes can be found through the ACC-ON diagnostic method (don't start engine, just to ACC-ON with mode-set keys held).

Switch voltage and battery voltage as you recorded are both normal. Your mechanics need to interrogate the ECU more thoroughly than to just "reset the ABS".

i totally agree that it is extremely dangerous and should not be on the road, that is why I'm trying to fix it.

the mechanics that i have been going to are useless, specially since they are a Holden dealer/mechanics, and I only go to them to keep the warranty. it's like there not taking it serious. is there any good mechanics that can fix this issue?

If you have a gripe with Holden or Holden's technicians, then take it up with Holden's office at Port Melbourne. If there is a problem with Holden's dealers, I'm sure they (HO) will be receptive and look at the details, especially since you appear to be saying that Holden is not taking it seriously and by association, putting your safety at risk. You could of course take the car to any other mechanic/dealer, but in doing so with the car under warranty, it could well be voided by that act of personal convenience. Your call.
