binnacle guages compartment?

in HSV models you get the binnacle guages in the top of the dash in the middle and once i saw a car (i think calais) with a storage compartment there instead and was wondering if anyone knows anything about it or have any pictures?

how bout changing the storage bin in2 the gauges that u see on the HSVs?
