Default Photo request please VZ Monaro, Calais or SS 6 speed manual

    Hi There,

Im tyring to get a photo from anyone who has a VZ Monaro, Calais or SS with a 6 speed manual that had a factory fitted bluetooth phone kit.

Im after a photo of the Traction control button and Phone button on the centre console.

Trying to figure out the correct location of the buttons and if Holden made a Bezel to go around these buttons in "SS Black" with holes for two button only, You can fit up to four buttons in the spot.

Have seen a bezel with one hole or four, Trying to find evidence of a two hole bezel.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Cheers!

No photo but yes you can get a black two hole bezel for the TC and Phone. I've got one in my VZ Calais. GMH part number for the bezel is 92116191 and the black phone switch is part number 92172330. Both these items cost me $26.92 all-up back in 2008 when I purchased them. Whether it's a 6 speed manual or 5 speed auto makes no difference to the bezel - still fits in the same place.

I attempted to purchase the two hole bezel as shown in the VZ Calais and SV6 sales brochures which shows (on the accessories pages) the switches located closest to the console armrest. Numerous attempts at different GMH spare parts wholesalers resulted in the only one being available was the two hole bezel which locates both switches closest to the gearshift - leaving the two blank spaces closest to the console armrest. Still fits perfectly but requires a minor mod to fit both switches in with the correct orientation.

I can't remember which component I had to do it to but you have to shave off one of the locating lugs on either the switch or bezel to get the switches so that the phone switch is on the right hand side front corner and the TC is on the left hand front corner of the bezel. That's bearing in mind that both switches have one (and only one) rounded corner to fit the bezel correctly. Both switches fit and stay in place perfectly when fitted after paring off the lugs carefully so it's not a problem really. Certainly looks cleaner than using the four hole bezel along with two blanking plugs that come with the genuine GMH Bluetooth Kit.

    Hope this info helps.

    Default Cheers!

    Thanks Mate,

I remember seeing one in a VZ once , The dealer assured me you could only get a four hole one, Mortified when I showed him the single hole one that was in the car already.

Anyway armed with your part number I went back down today and ordered one, Supposed to arrive in the morning, cost me $9.00 and will be a nice little touch to the centre console.

    Thanks for your help!

Now all I need to do i convince my dealer that you can order the VY/VZ workshop manuals on CD/DVD!

Glad to have been of some help KillerCV8.

With regard to the Workshop Manual on CD/DVD you should have no problem convincing the dealer unless he doesn't want to make any money. I've got one of the genuine GMH Service Manuals on DVD for the VZ. Bought it in July 2007 just after it was released for sale to the public. Part number is VZ102006 and I purchased it from Sutton's Motors Spare Parts Distribution Warehouse in Lidcombe, Sydney NSW (phone number 9648 3688 if you want to call them). It was quite expensive at $450.00 including GST but I can assure you it's worth every cent. The DVD is published by Infomedia and has ISBN code 086836 2824. It's called "Holden Service and Maintenance Information DVD"

Being a long time Holden man (I'm now retired but have always done, and will still continue to do, my own servicing, repairs and rebuilds) I have always had a genuine workshop manual for every Holden that I've owned. Why hand your vehicle over to an inept service department where they get apprentices to perform the work when you can perform quality work yourself whilst learning as you go. End result is a cheaper job completed to your own satisfaction.

Best of luck with your purchases.
