bored with auto want a manual..
i am no mechanic but want to know am i stupid to pay for a conversion or should i just sell my stock standard VZ sv6 and buy a manual?
I asked this question a few days ago. Apparently with all the parts and time needed to fit / convert it would seriously be easier to buy a manual. Its heartbreaking because i love my VZ....
i did it to a vx that i had already speant a fair bit of money on (audio, bodykit) and i still believe it is worth it, if your car is worth it. if you havent speant any money on it outside of services and theres no sentimental value dont bother, just sell buy a new one. But, if you really love the car like i did then your up for about $3-3.5k for parts and installed (thats at best) i was lucky and got away with 2K with mine. The fact that yours is a v6 is lucky enough, i want to do it to my thunder and im lookin anywhere between 3.5 and 4K for parts only.
p.s. remember like alot things with cars, you wont see that money when it comes time to upgrade.
The manual isn't a beacon of performance either. And its no fun through the gears, its harsh, heavy, and feels wrong to quick shift. But i may be wrong because i haven't spent much time looking for a good oil.
If it was an RX8, its would be worth it(they have fantastic manual boxes), but the 6 speed on the vz sucks.

give everything a spray with wd40 wheels brakes that should fix the squeaks
