Just a tip - if the Panasonic remote for the rear DVD stops working, most other Panasonic remotes will provide the same operation. There may be a few functions missing (or a few added) but a few $ from a second hand shop as opposed to purchasing a new remote or repairing is worthwhile.
Thanks for that i never thought of itill try it out.
BTW since you mentioned the dvd player, if you have an aftermarket headunit installed you may be able to help me out.
i just installed a double din pioneer headunit. when i play a dvd from the panasonic dvd player under the rear seat, there is no sound at all.
also my front sensors dont work anymore???
can anyone help me???
Thanks
The original head unit would have had a dedicated input for the DVD player. I would check that the cables on the rear of the unit are still connected (under the rear seat) and that the input to the head unit is connected. If so, test the head unit by connecting a known working audio source to prove the input. If you still have the head unit and the wiring has not been modified, put the original one back in then verify that everything works. Could be a cable to input mismatch.
With the sensors, my estimation is that they hijack the front speakers (they are possibly in parallel with the speakers).
Remember that there are 12 speakers in the car. If the new head unit does not allow for the full array of speakers the ones that were originally used may not be connected anymore. Play some audio and check for any sound in the individual speakers ( will be tricky unless you can isolate or remove individual speakers to hear them or use a meter to measure resistance/voltage off the back of them).
I would get the head unit installer to verify that the unit is actually compatible with the setup of the car (bit late now perhaps). Does the rear control and the steering wheel control still work?
I'm currently investigating a car kit with bluetooth and iPod connections and from what the dude tells me there may be some modifications required to steal the audio output (taking the speakers to allow for the phone and iPod by cutting the original head unit output - when the call ends or the ipod stops, it returns control of the speakers to the head unit)- at this point he is researching if it can be done or if it requires additional hardware to keep all original functions working.

Hey guys sorry to hyjack the thread but seanse as you guys have WLs just wondering if you know the part numbers for your sway bars?
VZ 3.6lt V6
Would have bought a V8 but I wanted to go FAST
Nah I think I might have then fitted in my car already have a sticker with WL on it and a part number
VZ 3.6lt V6
Would have bought a V8 but I wanted to go FAST
ah ok, don't think they would be anything different, WL mite just be a code for the part or prodution label
Much difference between Pedders and Whiteline Sway Bars ?
Try the above thread. There are plenty of parts suppliers who subscribe and can offer a solution.
Daviid - any luck with the head unit?
hey , thanks for asking.
been very busy trying to find the old paper gasket that sits on the plenum between the intake manifold after pulling the manifold off to change plugs and inspect coils. but no luck finding the paper gasket anywhere
Now the reason i need the paper gasket is so i can modify it to sit between my gas injectors. The metal gasket is very hard to cut out.
anyway for my head unit i went back to autobarn and asked what was going on, they said that they had to bypass the stock amp to get sound from my pioneer f20bt. They dont know how to get my sensors to work anymore unless they reverse everything back to original but i wont have sound from my aftermarket headunit.
really disappointed. now i cant have sound from my headrest DVD screen and no front sensors.
i either have to sacrifice those two or sacrifice my aftermarket headunit.
i am sure some installer has done a similar unit in the same car a found a way around it.
if anyone has a similar 2 din headunit and can help me out please PM me.
no worries at all,Hey guys sorry to hyjack the thread but seanse as you guys have WLs just wondering if you know the part numbers for your sway bars?![]()
as D-Renzow said try calling up holden for the part number, but some of them will say that they are not allowed to give u the part number cause its happend to me before wen trying to get a mode actuator, anyway dont give up, call several holden stores till they give u the part number.
just explain that u need the part number to campare it with another and they shuld give it to you.![]()

Hey caprilicious did u get the install sorted out?
Another hijack..but regarding the panasonic DVD,I'm trying to run mine as a standalone feeding the factory headrest monitors and headphone audio only in my wh for the daughter allowing me to listen to music still..now I can't see why it can't be done,my issue is the wiring diagram I have from Holden is completely different to my real life setup! Genuine unit and monitors and looms from wk grange however colours on schematic don't match my actual wiring and I'm pushin shit up hill as I can't back trace as obviously I don't have an original wk head to power the unit up..anyone have any ideas/suggestions before I use it at my handgun recertification?lol
