vz calais coin lid/ storage compartment

hey guys.. i bought the car with this one particular item broken and its always in the back of my mind and i know its there so i just gotta do something about it. the lid wont stay shut at all, can someone please give me a detailed explanation on how to remove the coin lid/ accessory compartment (whatever it is) near the center console... its usually the cup holders for the vy's,

also is there a place that anybody knows online where i can get the part to replace it?

No. The compartment is retained from underneath by two screws. Just remove the console top section as follows:

1. Remove the rubber mat from the open compartement in front of the gear selector.
2. Remove the self tapper that is located at the front of that little compartment at about 2 o'clock. It's horizontal and is easier to feel than it is to see.
3. Put the gear selector into Drive, then, starting at the rear of the console top cover, prise the cover up gently, working your way forward. It's held on by a series of clips that are pretty strong, so be careful not to crack the cover.
4. Unclip the wiring connectors to the power windows and any other connections your car might have.

You can now see the two screws under the cover.
