    Default Breakdown advice

    Hey guys,

Was driving north up to brissy from the coast on the pacific mwy yesterday and I got a "Check powertram" warning and the engine temp was in the red. Pulled over and was going to get it towed but since all the nearby garages were closed, drove it slowly to a friends place nearby so I could get it towed and repaired after the public holiday.

I had my car serviced less than a month ago at Bridgestone Select Ennogera - would there be a service warranty or something? Also Ill obviously have to sign up for breakdown assistance before Tuesday so was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. I was thinking of calling the nearest ultratune which is about 9km away and see if they would tow it to their garage and do the repairs (they offer roadside as well but I believe they waive the fee if you get a service with them). Or would it be best just to sign up to roadside assistance and get it checked by the nearest local mechanic.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

It depends what went wrong to cause it to get hot. 99% you're not going to get any warranty.

When I first saw the title of the thread I thought it said "Break dance advice "

But anyways , got any mates with a tow bar ? hire a car tailer for like $45 at a servo, most come with a winch to pull the car onto the trailer

your radiator will have a split side seam , can almost guarantee it . cost of new radiator about $200 plus $150 to fit it I reckon...., plus new hoses if they look too old , another $70, plus drive belt another $50, plus anything else that crops up while pulling out the radiator. Just get the local mechanic guy to do it, it isnt rocket science just routine, but he will be the cheapest.

Ebay have Holden Commodore VZ radiators for around $105 new.
There good. I've had one in my VZ for about 8months
