    Default VZ aerial

The one pet hate about my VZ is the humungous 1m+ aerial that comes up once the car is started, is there anyway to get a shorter aerial? Or an alternative?

I wouldn't mind knowing this too, a "shaved" aerial would be the go and then relocating the aerial elsewhere mhmm...

Disconnect it/ fill the hole and use an electric one (mounted on back window). Well that’s what I did.

Sweet as... I'm guessing that sits on the inside of the window ay?

What's the reception like with one of these?

And how much did it cost you to get the guard filled and resprayed?

Yes I mounted mine at the top of the rear wind screen. Mind you I got mine from Dick Smith and paid $40.

I put it as close as I could to the top but with enough room for it to receive the signal without interference from the roof. The reception is good, but I don’t get out of the city much, so not sure about country areas. I assume it would be ok.

I filled and painted the guard myself, so it cost me time and materials. But you could just disconnect the front and leave it there. As you can’t see the rear mount it won’t look funny

I like the idea Aussiecv8. How easy is it to hook up?

Very easy. You can hide all the wiring under the lip of the roof lining, then run it around the door trim similar to stereo wiring. Took me probably 15 mins.
