    Question advice for a towbar Quote for VZ wagon!

    Hi there,
    I have recently purchased a VZ wagon and I was wondering if I could get some advice.
    I have had a quote today to get a towbar installed and I was wondering if the price was ok. I am not confident doing the installation myself so u would need to get it done. The quote is from a local mechanic, so I thought I might get some advice before I commit to it.
    I work in Thomastown and live near Tullamarine so if these prices are excessive any recommendations around these areas or in between are fine.
    The quote is as follows;

    1600kg $370.00, wiring loom $66, plug $13.20, labour $140.00 Gst $58.92

    Total for the 1600kg = $648.12

    2100kg $825.00, loom $66, plug $13.20, labour $140.00, GST $104.42

    Total for 2100kg = $1148.62

    Trans cooler is an extra $110

    Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

    yeah so it has a cooler in the radiator.... couldnt remeber which models had it in the vz.

    a bypass or (not in the radiator cooler) makes only minor temperature difference to trans fluid
    unless your overloading your car..... so it would be a rip-off to get one if you've just got a tinny on the back...
