    Default SV6 clusterinto exec.

    hey guys,

    just wondering if anyone knows if i can take out the face of a SV6 and put it into a executive, i dont wanna change the whole cluster and get it reprogrammed just wanna change the face and if i can take out the plastic framing?

    As long as the needle sweep is the same. It should be able to be done.

    Needles just lift off by the way.

    Just make sure u mark out where the needles sit, so u dont get inacurate readings.

    Leave the needles and the plastic sheild off. Hook up cluster plug. Put the cluster into 'engineering mode' with the cluster in 'christmas tree' setting. This will make the 2 large gauges point at 90 degrees and the smaller ones (fuel & temp) point at 45 degrees. Then install the needles.

    Then gloat in your own sense of self satisfaction at a job well done. And or have a beer.

    so in other words, get it professionally done? i just wanna chnage the face to an sv6 without changing my whole cluster, but i have an old one i shall play with first before i do the one in my car.

    I agree with what Paul said, but I like the tech mode idea!

    When we play with dials, we put some tape down on the facia and mark where the needles sit. But when your changing the facia over you wont have that mark any more!

    One thing about the digital speedo is at least you know if your needle is out by a big whack or not!

    May aswell change the globes while its out... no harm and extenting the globe life.. or even LEDs

    I was gonna say dude their all LED on the VY/VZ cluster but their not that easy to change over. You've seen Greg do it, its not an easy feat ...

    im doing the same thing next week, my mate who can do all that VY VZ lighting in melbourne eastern suburbs and has already done all my interior lights, but is now taking the tempest colour facia around the speedo etc, and painting it silver to match my door handles and satin chrome holden parts as well as the backing piece, cant wait it will look awesome i think, one of a kind

    yeah i wanna get PHREDDY to change my dash lights nd stuff but i emailed him a couple times months and months ago but go no reply , i could probably go down to D&T's and get them to change it for me, im pretty sure they change facia's there.
