Hay guys jumped in the commy 2day to go to work.
Adjusted the climate control mode dial to windscreen demister, no dramas.
Finished work jumped in re-adjusted the mode dial to just face, and nothing... stayed at windscreen demist. Tried all the other settings on it (bi-level, recirculate etc), but nothing.
This happened on my old VS but i never worried about it cause i had it 4 a year. But now the VZ has done it and it kidda shits more.
Anyone else had this problem and know of the fix, b4 i go and pull the dash out?
Cheers
Brendan
The HVAC distibution controls work on engine vacuum. You should hear a slight hiss when you operate this control.
You may have a leak somewhere or failure. Or the vacuum hose has come loose from the engine plenum (at rear). You can also exhaust (use up) all the vacuum in the accumulator if you play with the controls with the engine off. Trying the controls with the engine on may allow you to isolate the problem.
Stick your head in the drivers footwell and look up towards the top of the tranny tunnel. You will see two actuators connected to coloured tubing. These control the air distribution. That should give you a start.
By the way. Exec's don't have Climate Control.
