    Default Aerial problems!

    Hi all,
Just got my VZ SV6 repaired after the missus nosed someone, and since having the front redone my aerial doesnt work anymore. still goes up and down but no reception.
    anyone got any ideas?
I know i should just take it back but thats a heap of hassle.
    Cheers

Maybe the repairer forgot to plug the aerial back in to the radio.

Does the unit illuminate when it is turned on? If it does, and if the front left hand guard was removed or repaired, Sash's suggestion could be on the money. There is a connection under the glovebox. You will probably need to unclip the lower cover panel to gain access to the lead.

Another spot could be the connection at the rear of the radio socket, which may have been affected by the prang. Try pushing firmly on the radio unit to ensure it is seated correctly in the dash.

If it doesn't illuminate, the problem is likely to be internal as the fact that the aerial operates correctly indicates that power is getting through to the unit as it should.

Thanks for the tips! I will check under the glovebox, and behind the unit. How do I pull the radio out to check? Is it same as a vt put 4 pins in the holes? If either if them don't fix it I'll have to take it back.
It's got me buggered as that guard didn't come off, and it's still going up and down, u could be right on the internals, might have fried if they welded rad support on with battery still connected.

Yep, the unit is held in by the four clips at the bottom of the holes. Before you try yanking it out, try firmly pushing it in just to ensure it hasn't been jarred loose in the impact.

Seriously, why stuff around? Pop by the repairers and say "I think you may have forgotten to plug in my aerial cable."

Beats you breaking something trying to do it yourself.
