    Default Exec vs SV6

I am currently driving an exec, but am 100% sick of driving slushboxes. Previously had a 3speed EA falcoon, the 4 speed is better, but I still hate it.

Have been contemplating trading it in for a similar km'd sv6 for the 6spd semi auto, would it be worth the 3 or 4k?

Why not go for a 6 speed manual? From what I've read, its a 5 speed auto and can only withstand 340 Nm of torque, compared with 480 from the 4 speed. Plus, SV6? Probably been thrashed. You'd probably run into lots of problems with a 5 speed auto.

As much as I'd love a v8, I do too much city driving for it to be practical, and they are not reeeeally in my price range haha.

Oops I did mean 5 speed semi auto for the sv6, and I thought the ss only came in 4 speed auto anyway?

What's wrong with the 4 speed auto anyway? I have it in my Executive, drives fine.

Sluggy takeoff and poor efficiency with stop starting around hometime is what makes me rage with the 4 speed, but it is only because of that shitty EA that I notice it really..

I was a little interested in the semi auto aspect of it, never driven one so not sure how they actually feel or if it would be used much, but having the ability to 'switch' between auto and 'manual' would be novel..

Plus the 190 motor would be nice, along with stock alloys compared to the steel ones I am currently rocking. There are a few places offering 5year or 175,000km warranties out so I'm not hugely fussed about it breaking a month later, unless I go private in which case I would have thought the manual would have been thrashed more haha

nah sluggy takeoff is the auto lol, sounds like you need a manual.

you can get VE SS's cheap, if you have any intention of modding id get an SS.

20k for the vz and 25 for the VE?

Or 12 for the sv6 vz, haha. Not looking to drop a massive amount of cash, was hoping to grab an sv6 with warranty and less km's than the exec, but I'm reconsidering getting a less thrashed manual exec after this thread....

Edit Whoops, exec doesn't come in manual, maybe the sv6 is indeed the way to go...
