Default VZ alloytec system = sounds like ass! Help!

Hi guys got pacey extractors, high flow cats and a twin 2.25 catback with rear muffler removed. It sounds deep and loud at low revs but as soon as I plant the foot it sounds like a terrible ricer, like a cat dying! Can someone give me some tips to combat this? It sounded fine with just the 2.25 catback but as soon as the extractors and cats went on it started sounding shit!! I didn't think these extras were meant to make it sound terrible so does anybody have any troubleshooting that I can try????

put a standard cat back on the rear, you will still get the same power and the noise will be gone! The magic of mufflers

But will putting the stock catback back on eliminate the good AND bad sounds? I might try putting on a rear lukey muffler or something and seeing how that goes

Though I also read on another thread that it's the high flow cats that can give off a terrible tinny sound. Any point simply removing the high flows and putting the standard cats back in?

yes, hiflow cats are known for that especially on the alloytecs, standard cat back will remove the sound of the exhaust, but dont forget you have an engine there aswell. i personally love the sound of the alloytec engine without an exhaust note. Im still running pacemakers and 2.5" Cat pipes and its probably even quicker then before.

No matter what you do Twin 2.5" is gonna be loud as, and your prone to getting drone.

Yeah I'm thinking of putting the standard cats back on and seeing how it goes, if it's any more
Consolation they're half an inch bigger than therest of the system though I don't think it would make a huge difference?
    I don't have a 2.5" it's a 2.25" but i still obviously get drone but it doesn't bother me one bit, but everybody's different I guess

not sure if this is the same as the sv6, but you will notice there are resonators after the cats and before the cat back section. heard these resonators actually help to reduce this tinny sound a bit. but as other people have said, use the standard cats, or cats from an sv6, theyre a bit bigger, but are high flow cats, and are probably the only difference i have heard between 2 alloytecs, and the one with high flow cats had the raspy noise when booting it

Ive got the standard catback at home so I'll have a look later but as for the catback I currently have it's just the two centre mufflers and the rear one which is now gone. I thought I may have gotten cheap/lousy high flow cats so I guess it's just a matter of time before we find out. I was never under the impression that extractors can make my
Exhaust sound that bad..... I'm really not keen on removing extractors
Simply because of the awesome sound it assists with down low

hay glenny ive got the xforce twin 2.25" exhaust on with all 3 mufflers sounds great getting the pacemaker headers put on friday comming and leaving the standard cats (after being convinced that high flow cats wont do diddly squat on a v6) so ill let you know how the note is
You gotta risk it for the Biscuit !
