Hi,
I have a 2005 V6 VZ ute. Just passed 100k and the ute seems to be quite jittery on take-off nearly like its misfiring but not as bad. I was thinking it could be the oxygen sensors, and think its sought of confirmed now that i've also just started getting the Service Vehicle Soon (SVS) error. Called Holden for a price and they want $260 for labour plus $174 for each sensor... Are these easy too change, has anyone done it?
Cheers...
the rear sensors are easy to change, the front ones require the cat converter to be removed to make room for a spanner to undo the sensor
i take it removing the CAT isnt straight forward? Or just un-bolt and make sure i put back on the same way???
its not too bad of a job, gotta remove 4 bolts and 4 nuts to do both sides, do you know which sensor is actually buggered?
No. But i'm thinking before the CAT would go first since its closer to the engine...exposed to more crap and so on... I'll try get the code read. Thanks for your help!
mmmm thats not always the case, better to find out which ones setting the code and replace it. no worries
svs doesnt just mean that the o2 sensor r failing, i had it coming up on my ute not long ago, and i turned out to be the fuel trims need resetting and the fuel/gas settings adjusted slightly

ok. well got the OBD2 reader hooked up to it today at the mechanics and no error codes showing up and couldnt clear the alarm...so really not sure what to put it down to... Bloke said the SVS is an error because it thinks its got a V8 instead of V6...
when u start the car press the 2 arrow buttons and that will clear the error code for a little bit,
the svs doesnt mean it thinks its a v8 at all, it could be o2 sensors, coil pack on its way out, or a million other things.
the warning also doesnt always have an error code with it, try and take note of whats happening when it comes up, after claering it.
