hey i have a 2004 vz acclaim last few days it has come accross a drama of not having the power when accelerating did have a miss which i have fixed coil packs are new sparkplugs are fine no vacuam leak but when you put your foot down it struggles to accelerate. Also i noticed when overtaking today it stuck in 2nd and didnt want to go up a gear just stayed there and when i stopped at a stop sign took my foot off the throttle with no brake and it stayed there till i used throttle then when off stayed there again i have just put 98 octane and a injector cleaner through it and really hasnt made much of a difference any one got any ideas what else to look at?
is the engine light on ? i would get it scaned and see what codes are in it
How's the tranny fluid level?
iv got same problem interested to no myself no lights are on the dash board either so.!?!?!?!
no dash lights and tranny was serviced 3 days ago by my self and was sluggish under power before doing the service on it as well and has been scanned no codes showing up at all as was scanned yesterday could catalyatic converters being blocked cause this at all?
was it doing the whole stuck in 2nd before you touched the transmission tho?
Take it to a Holden dealer, bend over and prepare to be shafted.
yes it was doing that before i changed filter and oil in the transmission
well went into a different mechanic and he thought it was water in the fuel so checked it and found out that it was the cats were melted as it has 20psi of back pressure
lol well that'd do it!
If you got an infra red thermometer it'll tell you. Check this out.
