    Default Disable immobilizer?

My vz has the issues of only starting when it feels like it. Not sure if it's to do
With the key or bcm. Is there a way of disconnecting it until such time as I can get it fixed?
    Regards

What do you mean starting when it feels like it?
Does it crank over but not fire,or do you turn the key and nothing happens?

Crank but not fire? That means its mechanical, as far as I remember if its the immobilizer it just wont crank, it'd be like turning the key without the battery almost.
When it cranks, does it sound like its trying to start? Or does it just turn with no detonation? And when it runs, does it run rough? Or sound like its got an old 8 in it? (in other words is it missing?)
Finally any error messages at all?

check for spark while it is cranking over.
if there is no spark then go into CAS,COILS,EFI RELAY,IGN MODULES.
If there is spark could be the fuel injector no trigger from cpu.
Or go to a workshop and get it fault coded.

Hey mate it still can be a immobilizer problem not the key side but the BCM to PCM communication error.
If there is then there will be no injecter trigger from the cpu.

Every commodore I worked on with Immobilizer problems wouldn't crank at all. But it is still possible that it is.

Yeh mate thats right because the BCM wont trigger starter relay hence no start like having no battery in the car.
But the PCM AND BCM also talk together. On vx onwards when changing the BCM or PCM you have to make a security link via daignostic machine.

It will crank but not fire with an immobilizer issue.

Hey guys thanks for the replys
When the car is running it runs fine, smooth with no break down in power. I am sorry for my
Not so complex description of the issue

    So....
The key works locks and unlocks, but the car does not seem to de-immobilize so it will do everything but start. Some times you jump in and go... Sometimes not.
There is no frequency in it ither. It will got two weeks with out an issue then do it everytime time you start it in one day
Tho is prone to doing it when both my boys are upset and in the back

After unlocking the car the immoblizer (IM) is disabled. It will then re-arm after approx 25 secs. If you attempt to start the car after this period has elapsed, the IM will then interogate the key via the slip-ring. If there is a problem with the key or poor contact with the slip-ring and a start attempt is made the car will crank but not fire (start). There will be visual evidence of the armed IM during start with a 'flashing lock' on the dash.

My guess is it works on occasion because you start the car before the IM re-arms after the 25 sec delay. Try another key perhaps.
