    Question Axle Tramp

    Hey,

    SO here is the thing.

I've been getting more and more "comfortable" with the power of the clubby and been enjoying it.

However, I'm finding there is a very very thin line between taking of just on the edge of traction and massive axle tramp.

    How can I combat this?

I've read that stiffer suspension can help, thus getting some HD springs in the bum this weekend.

I'm assuming stiffer shocks will complete this solution package.

So, my quetion is, who has dealt with axle tramp, did springs and shocks help, and what else should I do?

This has been covered in one way or another a few tims before, but those threads were a bit old and not specifically covering the details I'm after.

    Thanks,

jesterarts, you can get the bushes for the x-member and also a diff mount insert bush that helps a lot, the main problem is it bounces up and down on these bushes. whiteline and nolathane make them, superpro make the x-member ones but not the difff insert ones.
sheeny05 there is x-member insert bushes you can get for yours aswell, superpro, whiteline and nolathane make them.
also a good set of shock help too.

Swap engines with me. I can guarantee you will never be troubled by axle tramp again.

i just put these nolathane bushes under my 6L vs making almost as much power as jesters (yes im aware its not a vz but hopefully they do the same thing) and they took a fair bit of the axle tramp away but not all of it. but im guessing the big heavy 20's under mine would take a bit to stop bouncing once they get that inertia going.

i did read a article in zoom magazine on this topic a while ago, i forget the finer points but i think shocks with good rebound damping may have helped. keep the back end squatting down and not kicking back up or something

Yeah... may need to invest in some decent shocks. Have to talk to GSL I think.

Harrop diff cover will need to wait as I plan on swapping the current diff out at some point.

When people say i should get my bushes looked at, is this something I can investigate myself?
