Default What size tires do i need?

Hi guys, i have a 2004 VZ Sv6 Commodore with superlow springs and 19" SSV rims. I currently have them fitted with the standard VE tyres which are 245/40/19 and they scrub in the rear over any little bump, and going around corners, just wondering what size tire i will need to get to have no rubbing. 235/35/19 be ok??
    Cheers

    VT-VZ'scan use either 235 or 245/"35" x 19 tyres, I have 245/35x19 fitted to 8.5" (holden usually 8") on my senator.
After a little trim off the top inside edge of the rear bumper where it meets the the body any rubbing over bumps had gone, this is the spot where they usually rub as the susp goes up and down.
40 series 19's a way too tall without a lot of trimming in that area and still may rub/scrape.
Also if you lower the car you will start having rubbing on the fronts too.
No matter what tyres you use getting your guards rolled is definitely a step in the right direction.

110% agree, rolling would be the cheaper and effective option

yes i will be getting the guards rolled and i have noticed the bit that does most of the rubbing where the bumper and guard meet. but if i roll the guards will i still have trouble with this sized tire? or will i still need to go down to a 235/35? cheers

You don't have to go as small as 235/35 you can go 245/35's without rubbing on the edges (after rolling).
But you will still need to trim that bumper/body section.

I've always wondered about the reliablity of GPS's speed calculations. Am i right in trusting my speedo more?

Never trust your speedo, under ADR rules they can be up to 10% error although these days most are no more than 5% out.
Most cars usually read faster than the car is actually travelling which is the safe option with the way speed cameras.

    Default ADR's update

Just an update so you dont get caught out - either 01/2005 or 06/2005 the speedo ADR was revised and now states - speedo's are not to under state the speed and only allowed to overread by 3 km/h so basically cars speed +0 and upto -3km/h.

If its scraping in the back probably where the bumper meets the body inside the wheel well.
