Default VZ cranks but doesnt start

Hey guys, got a VZ exec, 120,000kms on it.
Worked fine last night, moved it from the driveway onto the grass, and now it wont start.
First i thought it was flooded so i kept trying to start it in 20sec bursts but nothing.

it eventually chugs and almost starts, but then the dash lights up saying ABS FAULT or Check powertrain...

Any idea on how to get this started? Fuel pump is working fine, i can hear it going... starter motor is working since it is cranking the engine.. im stumped!

Mine will run like crap if you move it a short distance when cold. After restart that is.

Starting problem is worse if you have lost battery power.

check your fuel by any chance, if the battery has dropped a cell it shouldnt crank over all that much.. if its under 1/4 of a tank then get some more fuel into it!
    Life starts at 200km/h

If you start them then turn off without warming it up fouls the plugs. New plugs will fix the problem. Common problem with alloytech.

this problem also occured at my work, where someone had not started their car for a few weeks. problem ended up being something along the lines of the seals contracted, so the piston would not compress, but apparently soaking them in oil got the compression back and the car was fine.

Hey it turns out it was just flooded.. really badly! After trying that night i went out the next day and gave it a whirl again (hoping the fuel would settle or something) held down ignition for about 10-15 seconds and she started. I let her warm up and drive around the block a few times. All good now! Now we know not to do 5meter drives in an alloytech. Cheers for all your help guys!
