simple question can ya put e85 fuel in vz without any problems or is it just for the newer cars? if so why them and not older cars? whats the difference
cheers
I use E85 in my Crewman nearly all the time. So far no problems at all. In older cars with rubber seals along the fuel lines it usually eats away and causes leaks. Which is the reason it isn't used.
The seals get eaten away mainly because of the alcohol in the fuel.
So the answer is yes you can use it, if it happens to spring a leak get the mechanics to replace the seals with E85 compatible seals.
pretty sure engines need to be made specifically to comply with e85
As far as I know its only the seals that are changed. Not once have I had an issue with E85 directly. I did have trouble after a cyclone since water got into the fuel stations tanks but thats not because of it being E85.
If you have run a car on petrol for years, it doesnt clean you fuel tank, therefore your tank get sludge and crap in the bottom. When you put E10 or E85in, it will pickup all the water and crap in your tank and pump it through your fuel system, injectors and engine. Starting a new car on E85 or E10 is fine, but after using regular fuel for a few years, dont bother changing. And Running E10 won't save you money, it looks cheaper, but its like saving a dollar, and using $1.20 extra. Due to the low heat and energy content in ethanol, it wont run as far as regular petrol.
