Where's my glasses

If like me you have installed the triple window cluster and have found it to be not as legible as the standard one, or someone has stolen your glasses. Do I have a the mod for you!

This mod will activate the cluster illumination during daylight (lights off). This makes the cluster in question slightly easier to read during the day, especially during grey Melbourne winter days.

You need to remove and disconnect your cluster.
Find terminal #19 which is brown/white.
Cut it - leaving as much length as possible.
Solder or crimp extra wire on so it will reach the headlight switch.
Don't forget to properly terminate the now unused exposed wire.
Now splice the other end to the headlight plug connecter wire brown/blue.
You can use a scotchlok or solder. Whatever floats ya' boat.
Replace cluster and voila!

Limitations,
The dimmer will still work with the cluster when the headlights are on. However, the cluster lighting level cannot be changed without the headlights being on. To adjust the cluster lighting level you will always need to put the headlights on first to set the desired light level. Which should be full in any case.
Also, the cluster will not light up if the engine is off and the lights are in park or head anymore.
