I was a bit sick of the pathetic thing Holden called a horn in my exec. So I decided to replace it with a much louder Stebel compact air horn. This mod worked fine until the alarm sounded one night. Now I have this loud air horn sounding which I'm sure the neighbours do not appreciate. What to do? Given that there is a dedicated alarm horn under the bonnet which is plenty loud, I decided to investigate.....

This mod will allow only the engine compartment horn to sound once triggered. Assuming you have replaced your horn with something better (klaxon?).

Go to the BCM. Locate connector X1 terminal #17 (black/yellow). Simply cut the wire and secure.

Car horn and alarm horn will now work independantly.
