My 4speed auto 4l60e 7hs??

So my gearbox is screwed. I can only see some of the letters ontop of the gearbox which is "7hs" what is the rest of this, so I can buy a second hand box ???

So its a 4l60E 7HSD box. Which comes in all sorts of other commodores. But will an ecotec box fit my alloytec ?

no, the valve bodies have subtle differences as I found out when I tried to replace my VZ 4L60E valve body with one from a VT Ecotec and it jammed in 2nd gear, and I believe theres other differences as well

yes its diffent.. im a automatic trans mechanic.. u have to get a vz 4l60e... we rebuild them for for bout 2k

Tranny specialist said that it's buggered. Then put his tech 2 on it, and no codes come up, which confirmed what he said earlier.

Just replacing the computer on the transmission as probably just the computer has gone. Either that or try reprogramming it first.

So I assume it doesn't go into gear or? .... I've had a wiped TCU with the car running before, it just doesn't do anything really.

If there was an error in the electrics, when it wasn't going into gear, There would be an error code that would of come up. The thing is, since having make all sorts of noises when it was stuck in 3rd. It hasn't stuffed up since. So I'm thinking it was a blockage somewhere.

It goes into gear, but it would try and take off from the wrong gear, then wouldn't select the first gear.
