i got a flat battery the other night due to one of my indicators sticking once ive locked my car, in the middle of fixing this problem..
this is my problem, i jump started my car due to battery being flat, once it turned on it came up with the SRS Airbag fault animation on my dash, when i press the mode button it goes but the little red SRS light stays on..
how can i fix this? or where can i go to get it fixed tht isnt gonna cost me an arm 'n' leg??
cheers
You can probably be lucky and find someone with Tech-2 or the equivelent (most decent mechanics will have atleast the Snap-On OBD-II scanner). Get them to read/clear it. They can tell you if theres actual physical damage or if its just your BCM hating you and needing the fault cleared.
Cheers mate
it would have been either a voltage drop or spike at some point between flat battery and (more then likely) when jump starting, if it goes out of spec it throws the SRS warning up, and that requires tech 2 or equivellant to remove, to kinda force you to a mechanic to "check out" as its a "safety issue". I pt these in commas as dads had an SRS issue with the Adventra and we had a good debate about it the other night, what constitutes a safety item and so on.
It should have stored a code as historical, ie its recorded it once upon a time, but its gone away and isnt current.
