    Default Pacemaker Extractors

Just bought some Pacies online for my Crewman, whats involved in putting them on? I asked my mechanic he obviously lied and said the engine needs to be stripped down.

Asked an exhaust shop, he recons just a water pipe needs to be taken off.

And what I know of it, it should be a relatively simple, but painful to reach switch job.

you should be able to just bolt it on, but welding is needed if pacemaker cats and catpipes are not bought, you will need to have the pacies welded to your cats, and the cat pipes need to be moddified as the cats dont sit in the same spot

Damn didnt even think of that, well it seems as if I need to pay a visit to a couple of people and see what favours I can get.

probably the cheapest way to go about it is to take the pacies into an exhaust shop and just ask them to fit them, otherwise, buy the pacemaker cats and cat pipes, which should all bolt up with no problems, i doubt anything needs to be removed as such, should be a few bolts holding the standard manifolds on

I told them that in very similar words. I would assume all I would need to do is some cutting and welding at most. If thats the case I will prep it and get my mate (apprentice blacksmith/welder) to do the welding, I could do it but he does a very nice job on the welds.
He managed to weld most of my chassis on my old project car (so well infact it was passed by the engineer and he commented on the excellent job)

The VZ isn't as simple as earlier models. There is a water pipe in the way, but I have never had to remove it, it is awkward to get around, but it can be done with a swivel head extension on a ratchet.

The rack has to be undone and moved to the side as well. It is about a 3 hour job. As said, the stock cats have to be relocated under the car, but because of their shape, you may have ground clearance issues. You can get universal cats and fit them instead of buying the complete cat pipes, but the complete units bolt straight up and there is no welding required.
