Uhm about 3 years ago when i got my car u only had to look at the accelerator and the back wheels would spin, car would even go sideways if i wasnt careful, acceleration was so touchy... But now (and its been going down gradually) if i planted my foot down the car will growl a lot and ill go about as fast as a ford driver
Could my torque converter be stuffed ? How can i check this, what else could be the problem ? Btw i dont thrash my car...
Have you put good (better) tyres on the car since you first bought it.![]()
Ive replaced tires once when i had 17s and still the power went down, just avg tires i think, now i have 20s and still not good... Just takes so long to pick up speed, tires couldnt make that much difference !?
Have you been eating excessive amounts of McDonalds?
Those tyres would be wider and probably better quality than your last ones. That would be why your not losing traction off the line. These motors are not that powerful. Or maybe that's just me because i downgraded from a 241rwkw ss![]()
a v6 with 20's might be your problem
The problem 1st started when i had 17s on... While 20s makes a slight difference, im almost certain its not the cause... I get high revs with f**k all movement to put it blunt
transmisson...
Larger tyres weigh more and more unsprung weight will reduce performance
VZ 3.6lt V6
Would have bought a V8 but I wanted to go FAST
As above more likely the tranny than the torque converter. If you put your foot down do the revs go up alot before it moves?
Wider tyres and larger rims weigh more (particularly close to the rolling diameter) and therefore do increase the rotational inertia of your drivetrain. I could notice it between 15x6 rims and 18x8 on my vs
Havent gotten around to lowering the car yet that probably makes the ride a little how ya goin, tranny - got that serviced about 10,000ks ago, guy said it was fine but was due for it... And yeh it just revs - well more like groans, real bad for trying to out of back streets into fast moving heavy traffic without slowung everyone behind me down
