    Default traction control

tried searching, but is there a way to disable traction control permanently without having to press the button? i read for a vy you push out one of the clips in the wiring somewhere, but is that the same for a VZ? how do the LPG guys do it on the vz?

    cheers

I read that too, can't remember where but yes fairly sure the procedure is the same for VZ.

the collective time you spend bastardising the current switch with this 'mod' would essentially be the time spent pressing it every time you get in your car

I asked the same question on the forums long ago no one gave me an answer. I did some research of my own and what I came up with is this.

Pull out the ABS plug (big one in the engine bay) check to see if you have a PIN 27 on there, if you do push it out with a pin or nail. DONE.

If you dont have it, supposedly it can be disabled via the ECU. Now I dont entirely beleive this at all.
The other alternative is to change the ABS module for a none TC one.

Thats the best I can help with.

I suggest you grab a screwdriver and hammer it into the TC button and get a permanent marker and write traction control OFF on you cluster screen. Done

I turn it off when I get in all the time other than when it is wet. Then it is pretty much a necessity. I wouldn’t permanently disable it.

thanks for the people who actually tried to answer, but yes, everytime i hop in the car it comes off, regardless of when its wet or dry. personally, id rather be in control of when i lose traction, and for the people that are gonna say why do you need to turn it off, learn to drive and have control of your car, im sure there will be a time when u go sideways and think 'traction control will save me', and something will be screwed with the traction control unit, and u will be screwed.

and also to note, having traction control turned off in the car does not necesarily disable it, i have at one point gone to the drags, lost traction and had the low traction warning come up, not ideal in that situation to see that message.

so check the abs plug? will do, see if it makes any diference

Traction control has saved my car from stepping out in the wet more that once. There was one occasion were it didn't do what it was supposed to do, yet I didn't screw up and came out ok.
This was the first and only time I have had my car completely side ways!

You're car is newer than mine, so mine does properly disable traction control when turned off.

I remember reading somewhere that there is a relay for the t/c? and you pull it out, wrap some electrical tape around the prongs and stick her back in. Something along those lines
