Powertrain light? Can you check the compression on your cylinders? How old is the car could need a new coil pack

Get someone with an OBDII Scanner to check it out, probably just a sensor or connection somewhere that is faulty. VZs throw up all sorts of errors when they have problems, 'Check Powertrain' and 'Service Vehicle Soon' are just the two most common.

coz its designed to throw one of those warnings up, as a driver you go "oh darn, off to the mechanic I go". It also includes a picture of a transmission from memory to scare you into thinking its serious.

The mechanic, as the trained professional he/she is connects a scan tool which gives an error code. The mechanic proclaims "tada, found the problem ... its <insert scan tools fault diagnosis> and it costs <insert price for replacement item>.

So yeh, could be one of multiple things.
