Default Traction Control switch not working

I recently bought a T/C switch from Holden. And it doesnt appear to work. Plugged in fine, lights up fine, does get warm.
But you hit the button nothing comes up on the cluster and the traction doesn't change in the slightest (I can make the car do a slight burnout but the T/C noticably kicks in even after pressing the button).

Is it defective or have I missed something in the installation?

Hmm by saying you bought a T/C switch from Holden, does your car even have Traction Control to begin with?

Don't you have to hold the switch in or something stupid like that? I've heard of people pulling the T/C fuse to get it to turn off before.

Ok was there a T/C button there before, if so why did you buy a new button for. No you dont have to hold it just press it and it's on. You will see it on the cluster.

The car came with one (previous owner) but they pulled it out. So I had to buy a new one from Holden.

I tried that long ago. All that does is set my car into limp home mode. Doesnt really work too well when it does that.

If it has TC it should have 4 channel ABS. To check, look at the brake lines that exit the ABS module. There should be four. Non TC models have 3 channel (rear line is shared).

Just got off the phone with Holden, not happy with them. 3 out on the ABS module R FR FL. They still swear the switch will turn it off but I just unplugged it and put the cover back in.

Sounds like the T/C was playing up & the previous owner pulled out the switch to deactivate it. There must be a problem in the T/C system somewhere , you will have to plug in a Tech 2 to test the system & find the faulty component/s.

TC needs to brake the rear wheels independently to work. It cannot do this with a shared brake line. Which is why I asked the question.

I'm not saying you don't have it. Just explaining how it works.

It definately has a shared brake line, has some weird ass box in the back under the tray but I dont think thats the brakes.

Utes dont, Crewman's can. I know my mates Crewman (S Pack as well) has traction control his button actually does something in his car. Mine it just let me vent my anger of the button not working by repeatedly hitting it lol
